For exhaustive and detailed background material, please read the Wireless Networks In The Developing World book in it's entirety. It is an exhaustive reference and covers all aspects of a network deployment. However it's quite technical and detailed. You may not want to be an expert, and prefer a more streamlined experience. For that the FNF has produced the following documents, which cover the bare essentials of getting a network up and running. This documentation is based on eating/sleeping/living/breathing the tech/processes etc covered in WNDW and performing dozens and dozens of network / colo / server / application deployments.

You can also review our training course (currently in development) Building_and_Operating_Free_Networks . Once it's completed, we'll offer it over the internet or in person in return for a donation to the FNF.
